“don’t you see that nothing that enters a man from the outside can make him “unclean”....What comes out of a man makes him unclean. For from within, out of men’s hearts, come evil thoughts....sexual immorality....greed...malice....deceit.....lewdness
envy...slander......arrogance......folly.” Matt 7.20

Have spent much time recently contemplating ski jumping.    Realise that it would be late in life to take this up, but am very excited by the idea of flying over Ussain Bolt running 100metres and landing beyond the finishing line.

Sense of humour of winter Olympiads that the 60metre jump is called the “normal” hill , as if anything normal about skiing off the end of a platform on a mountain.    The other jump hill is called the Big Hill in case you were wondering- not Everest like colossal only for men with ice in their veins; just big.

Wonder what Simon Ammann (4 gold medal winner ) has for breakfast before his jump? No doubt something with a lot of air in it, and seeds of course for bird like qualities.

Jesus more concerned about what comes out than what goes in.

Debate going on at the moment about iwhat constitutes acceptable spirit of determination in the workplace, rather than pressurised bullying.   Have definitely seen and been on receiving end of both at different times in the workplace.  Know that lots of people face anger and pressure at work, and even sadder for many spouses and children in their homes.

Lord J please assure any going into stormy situations today, give them strength; bring protection and peace to vulnerable in their homes, children and adults.

Wonder what comes out of me sometimes?

Lent period underway, time to climb the steps with Jesus leading to the cross and Easter jump.   Many giving up something; know that giving up fast can help to keep focus on the Lent climb.

Jesus' words in Matt 720 like lightning strike to the conscience. Perhaps our city, you, me,  need to worry less about what goes in and more about what comes out.

Have decided not going to be a “giving upper” this Lent at least food or drink wise.

Lord J, forgive me for what has come out that is bad; clean me from the inside by your Spirit.  So what comes out is more good.

Over seed breakfast Sue shows me picture of ski jumping on Hampstead Heath.  Could be good place to begin.  Mind you, the Wii winter Olympics is pretty brave.
