Jesus wept.

(John 11.35)

Have become 3D person.  chuffed to be given quite nice specs (bit like fake rayban wayfarers) on visit to Vue for Avatar; put specs over specs and started seeing flying objects and floating jellyfish-like things in front of me.   spent next 2 1/2 hours in wonder at virtual beautiful world with very tall blue people with tails, plants lighting up on touched, flying dragons to plug your tail into (solving need for electric cars and plug points).

emerge onto Finchley Road reality, bit foggy and damp.  Feel slight sense of unease at thought of 3D in living rooms of the nation.  will people prefer to see virtual world to the real one, virtual people to real ones?

reality of world hitting hard this week.  attending memorial for young cousin who bore severe disabling illness for all her shortened life.  she gave much love, she received much love from amazing mum and family.

Haiti tragedy on scale difficult to imagine- estimates of  tens of thousands of  children become orphans, no mother or father.

some stories defy sadness.  Mia Charlotte, 2 years old, firemen from UK removed pink ribbons from her hair and haul her from space too tiny to move in after 3 days, into arms of her Mum.  70 year old Ms Zizi pulled from the ruins of the cathedral, still praying and singing one week after the quake.

thankful that we have cameras and technology to see all the real world, sad terrible bits, and beautiful joyful bits.   means we can know, means we can help.

Jesus said "blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.  Jesus gave me 3D sight.  sometimes I don't want to see and hear it like it really is.

remember how J went into hard places, sad places, hurting people.  He wept.  he loved, he prayed, he helped.

determined to live knowing death is not the end.  Jesus, Living G, thank you that the earthquake cannot break your grip of love.

Living J open up the 3D eyes of my heart wider and wider to see like you.

move me into action, not passive watching, active to give, active to touch, active to take a lead.

have brief conscience struggle on exit from Vue over nice 3D specs;  do the right thing and put into box on way out of Vue.  best really, recycling etc, and dangerous for crossing real dual carriageway.
