The earth is the Lord's and everything in it, the world and all who live in it.  (Psalm 24)

you know how you suddenly keep on coming across something you have never really given much thought to?

lobsters were that thing for me this week.  firstly saw the sexiest lobster ever in the Cornwall lobster conservation tanks; a shimmering pink 20 year old with toned claws and cute (though bit fixed) eyes.

then next day reading an interview with one of the leading Somalian pirates. turns out he wasn't always a pirate, but used to be lobster fisherman until the huge commercial trawlers came and pillaged (pirated?) the stocks to feed the lobster hungry nations of the world.

followed by the usual summer blockade of Calais by French fishermen outrage because of reduced fishing quotas due to - overfishing  (bet lobsters behind this one too).

UK budget week -  UK may not be as rich as it was but will try to be thankful for this amazing creative world God has given us to look after and enjoy - not sure what I have done to deserve it (?)

how I choose to live can impact the life of a fisherman in Somalia.  when I grab more of this world than I should and I don't share, then someone else gets too little.

need to remember none of its mine.  it's God's budget, thankful that I am part of it.

(but will go and see that lovely pink lobster when next passing through - not on my own of course, will make sure my wife Sue is with me)
